Some methods used to measure aspects of a real site are:
- photography
-surveying
-site and floor plan measure ups
-aerial images
-video recording
To completely capture all correct elements of Town Hall a combination of methods need to be used in order to record accurate site detail. The first thing that I intend to do is Internet research to gather as much information as possible and ensure that I don't waste time while I'm there and double up on information. Google earth will give reasonably accurate images of the site and also has a ruler tool that measure approximate distances. I will also search for any surveys or architectural drawings already done on the site. And print out as much photos I can find to pre-draw as much of the site as possible before I go to measure up.
While at Town Hall I will take a tone of photos in a sequence to ensure that I know exactly the position of each element. We are organising a group of students to all go together so we can measure up and get as many measurements and detail as possible. Video recording may help to remember how the site is pieced together.
